Celebrating the great women working in utilities today

Shine a spotlight on the phenomenal women in utilities with the Women in Utilities Awards -brought to you by utilities most trusted source of insight - Utility Week, and the Womens Utilities Network (WUN). This awards scheme is a pioneering tribute to the remarkable achievements of women in the utilities sector and the organisations and individuals that champion them.
Utility Week portfolio director Ellen Bennett said: The Women in Utilities Awards are more than a celebration - they’re a movement. Recognising the women who are driving innovation, leadership, and transformation in utilities is essential to building a more inclusive and future-ready sector. We’re proud to continue this partnership and celebrate the talent shaping our industry.
“While great progress has been made, it’s eye opening that women make up only 26% of the workforce in energy and utilities. These awards provide a unique platform for the industry to showcase its commitment to gender diversity; celebrate the great women working in utilities today; and open the door for those who will come after them.” - Ellen Bennett, Portfolio Director, Utility Week

Jo Butlin and Hayley Monks, co-founders of WUN said: "The Women in Utilities Awards create space for real recognition. They shine a light on women who push boundaries and lead with impact and on the allies and organisations who help shift the culture of our sector. We are proud to be part of an initiative that champion the people moving our industry forward.”
The Women in Utilities Awards spotlight the achievements of women in their field, the allies and mentors supporting and championing them and the companies setting them up for success.
New categories for 2026 include: Technology Champion and #SpeakUp Award to recognise companies and individuals truly embracing WUN’s #SpeakUp Campaign values. Popular returning categories include Mentor of the Year, Rising Sar, EDI Initiative and the prestigious Women of the Year Award.
"Adding these categories lets us recognise the realities of the sector today. They celebrate women who advance innovation and those who speak up for fairer and more inclusive workplaces.”
